It Takes Discipline!

Wouldn’t you say that the discipline it takes to get up early every morning, get all of our stuff done, eat right and properly take care of ourselves every day is hard? Well, I agree with you. It is hard to do all the things that we are supposed to do. But, you want to know what is really hard? It is really hard to know that other people are getting up early and getting their stuff done while we are not. And it’s also really hard feeling our health, vitality, and passion slowly slipping away from us as we pack on one pound after another and it gets harder and harder to move our body with the vigor for life that it was meant to be moved.

To tell you the truth, discipline is hardest in the beginning. Once we get over the initial struggle of not feeling like we want to self-discipline ourselves something magical happens. We begin to actually like self-discipline and the routines that goes with it. Hey, what can I say? We humans like structure and some semblance of organization and control in our lives; and these are the positive things that discipline brings with it.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that self-discipline will always be easy once we get pass the initial hump of self-imposed resistance. There will be times in the future when we won’t feel like doing some of the things we are supposed to do. When these times happen, which they will, then it really helps to think about some of your past successes and some of the not-so-pleasant alternatives to discipline.

Now please share with the rest of us how you plan to use Granddaddy’s secret of it takes discipline.
