Try Even Harder to Read More!

I once heard a woman say that she kept a book in her car so that she could read at red lights. I initially thought that she was crazy. However, as I’ve grown older and wiser, though, I’ve come to better understand the hidden success principle behind her madness.

Now I’m not telling you to keep a book or any other kind of reading material in your car to read at red lights, but what I am saying is to step back and look at the success principle hidden in this women’s way of reading and driving. It’s the same secret of success that many of my previous teen leadership articles have already talked about… Little things matter in BIG ways! Doing a little bit every day equals BIG gains over time.

An example of a simple little thing could be setting your alarm clock 15-minutes earlier each morning to read and enrich your mind with knowledge and possibilities. Reading is a great way to start your day off on a positive note and gain some momentum for what’s ahead of you!

Not a morning person? How about bringing a book with you to bed at night? You’re not going to fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow anyways. So why not develop a bedtime ritual of relaxing your body, feeding your imagination, and giving your mind something positive to think about and then dream about while you sleep? Remember, the mind never stops working. So, what is your mind going to be exposed to before going to bed?
