Claire, I remember you. Hey, I want to take a moment to thank you for all the great work you do with our youth. It really does take a village to raise a child, and you’re doing your part and more.
I have looked at your book, School Crossing Guard, and I really like it. It’s so colorful. The artwork is cool. I especially like the way you put your head on the crossing guard inside the book. And besides how well crossing guards take care of our children is that you’re also teaching our kids some crucial social skills, such as using proper greeting, like, “Good morning,” and “How are you?’
Your book also promotes the coming together of students and their positive expectations of having some fun in school, while at the same time being aware of the traffic and the big yellow buses entering the schoolyard. You follow up with kids listening and following directions, too, which we all know are vital components of success for our youth. And furthermore, Claire, you even include family and how important they are in the safety and well-being of our students as Mommy and Daddy drop off their children at school!
As I mentioned earlier, it really does take a village to raise a child. This village thing is a truism that doesn’t always get recognized, though. And it’s much too easy for some members of our village not to be as visible as others. However, that doesn’t make anyone less valuable than anyone else. Thankfully, Claire, the power of the pen reared its head again through your initiative to write a book that allows all the village to be counted and recognized.
Remember, everyone, our village is only as strong as our weakest link. So let’s all tighten up that chain and keep pulling in the same direction for a better and brighter future for our youth. Let’s take full advantage of the village helping to raise our children.
