Have you ever had an uneasy feeling in your stomach? I know I have. As a matter of fact, I have had it a bunch of times. And I imagine since I am a human being and so are you that you probably have also had this very human experiences of sometimes feeling a little nervous, upset, and queasy in your stomach. Some people call this uneasy feeling in our belly a case of the butterflies. You know what I am talking about, right?
It’s normal to get a case of the butterflies from time to time. Everybody gets them. As a matter of fact, whenever we are trying something new, it would be kind of odd if we didn’t, especially if people are watching us, or if we are involved in some kind of competition.
So, what can we do about these jitters or butterflies? Well, let’s just welcome and accept our butterflies as a normal part of our life and then make them our ally. Let’s make them our inner strength by realizing that they are a good thing that puts us in a heightened mode, both physically and mentally so that we can perform at a higher level. So, how do we do this? The simple answer is to make our butterflies fly in formation.
These butterflies are ours. We own our butterflies. So whenever our butterflies show up let’s just imagine lining them up in formation, with all of their combined strength and power working for us, instead of against us. Let’s not let our own butterflies wreak havoc on us anymore. I guarantee you that we can all learn to do this if we just believe that we can and are not afraid to take charge of our butterflies.
