I can remember a few times in my life when somehow the world stopped spinning for just a moment. What caused this rare moment? Surprisingly, my dirty hands. During these occasional stand-still moments I became lost in in my thoughts while staring at my dirty hands. This would sometimes happen in the strangest places like right in the middle of a wrestling match. The world isn’t supposed to stand still right in the middle of a heated battle, right?
Well it did. And part of my mind felt self-conscious about the way I looked. We all want to look good, don’t we? We never want anyone to see us looking dirty or sweaty, or looking silly when we try something different, right? Basically, we’re all a little bit of afraid of what others may think about us. Thus, sadly, sometimes we don’t try to do something different if we know it might make us look silly, bad, odd, or maybe dirty our hands.
But, on the other hand, we have to try to remember that old saying that if we want some scramble eggs then we will have to make little bit of a mess by breaking a few eggs, right? Basically, if we want to get somewhere in this world we have to convince ourselves that life is a do-it-yourself project. And we all know that during our do-it-yourself projects we do occasionally get our hands dirty, don’t we?
So, here is the deal. Let’s not be afraid of dirtying our hands through hard work. Let’s not worry about what others may think of us when they look at us and see a person who is temporarily a bit disheveled because they have just given it their all.
Now please share with the rest of us how you plan to use Granddaddy’s secret of it being okay to dirty your hands.
Thanks for your time,
