This morning I was feeling really tired when my alarm clock went off at 4:00 A.M. I rolled over, turned it off, and then put my feet on the ground.

I stood in the middle of a dark room wondering what the heck would possess me to get out of bed day after day at such an ungodly hour; while all along thinking that all I really wanted to do was to go back to bed for a few more hours and live a simpler life…

However, my feet did not move back toward my bed, but rather they moved toward my dresser where my workout clothes sat neatly folded on the top of my running sneakers.

“Why do I do this to myself every morning? Why do I punish myself like this when much of the sane world is still in bed? Why? Why? Why?” I ask myself…

And that is the answer! The answer is “Why”. When facing challenges I always start with “Why” and always refer back to “Why” when things get tough. Remember, if our “Why” is big enough then we will overcome any obstacle, even getting out of bed at 4:00 A.M. every day to make our dreams come true…

If our “Why” is big enough the “How” doesn’t matter any more. We won’t know “How” today, and we may not know “How” tomorrow, but none of that is going to matter any more because our “Why” will help us find our wayto and through the “how”.

Our problems come when we don’t start with our “Why” but instead just blindly go out and do what ever seems to fall in our paths on that particular day. When we figure out our “Why” we won’t waste our time doing all of that other unnecessary stuff that clutters our day and robs us of our valuable time.

When, we do find our “Why” we tend to also find our success. However, we must be vigilant not to let our success muddy our “Why” or blur our vision of our “Why”. If we do allow ourselves to lose sight of our “Why” after achieving some success, well then, that’s a sure recipe for our future failures.

So “Why” did I get out of bed this morning and put on my running shoes and work out gear at 4:00 A.M.? It’s because I want to look like a million dollars and feel like a million dollars too!!! So “Why” will I get out of bed tomorrow at 4:00 A.M. and the next, and the next, and the next? It’s because once I get to the point of looking like a million dollars and feeling like a million dollars, I want to continue to look like a million dollars and continue to feel like a million dollars…

So go ahead and ask yourself “Why” right now. And always remember to… start with “Why”, as well as end with “Why” and do everything in between based on “Why”.

Now, please share with us how you will start with “Why”.

Thanks for your time,
