As much as we may want to, if something in our lives isn’t working out right we cannot blame other people or other things. When we blaming someone or something else, we aren’t putting our time and energy into doing something about it. Let’s take responsibility for our own lives and take ownership of our own precious time and energy so we can be the one who gets to decide where our efforts will do the most good. And, by the way, complaining certainly isn’t one of them.
I don’t know how many times I have heard people say that there just isn’t enough time. You’ve heard that one too, right? We all need more time, don’t we? Of course we do! Time is one of those universal things that we all want more of, isn’t it? Guess what else is one of those universal things that we all want more of? Energy. Don’t we all wish we had more energy so we could live life with more passion and tirelessly pursue our dreams? Yup. I feel pretty confident saying that we all want more time and energy.
So, if we all want more time and energy, then why do we so willingly partake in activities like blaming when they drain both time and energy from us? Why do we willingly sabotage ourselves like this by complaining and blaming?
Well, regardless of why we are so slow to take responsibility, the fact is that we all participate in this counterproductive blaming behavior. We have to become more cognizant of, and then battle, our innate unwillingness to take responsibility when things go wrong if we are truly going to succeed in life. Taking responsibility is the only true path to chasing down and catching those dreams if we wish to live the life that we want and deserve.
Now please share with the rest of us how you plan to use the secret of taking responsibility.
Thanks for your time,
Daniel Blanchard
